Zai'Qer the Animus Sycophant - Character Concept

This project was created in 2018, reflecting a older state of the game which has since changed/updated. A character concept for the popular game, league of legends. containing a detailed backstory, character statistics and abilities and much more info.

Zai’Qer is a control mage, with a traditional kit that suits the role of mid lane. Using their passive, they can take control of the enemies’ position and keep them in place for ganks and dives. If they're finding this a bit hard or a team fight is breaking out, Zai'Qer can use their ultimate to apply more crowd control and scare any enemies nearby.

Passive

Zai’Qer has perfected the art of showing power through motion. Zai'Qer builds up infection as they moves, 1 stack for every 85 units moved. When at 100 stacks, their next ability becomes empowered.

Infused Infection

Zai'Qer pulls infected bolts of magic from within and fires them forward. This ability can hold up to 3 charges and are all expended once activated. Each hit from a bolt applies one stack of tether.

Empowered: The next infected bolt slows the target hit by 10/20/40% for 1 second, plus an added 5% slow for every 200 max health more than Zai’Qer the enemy has, maxing at an additional 25%.

Bio-Weaponry

Zai'Qer slings an infected bomb forward. Upon impact, it slowly spreads outwards and deals damage over time to anyone caught in the aftermath. The spreading infections radius increases with bonus mana, but the time it takes to reach its maximum size stays the same.

 

This ability applies a single stack upon first contact with the infected area.

 

Empowered: the infection spread 50% faster and roots enemies caught in it for 0.8 seconds upon initial contact with the spreading infection

Tethered Contagion

passive - Abilities that hit enemy champions apply a stack of tether. These tethers can attach to multiple champions and stack up to 3 times. The tether breaks if they uses this abilities active effect, does not attack within 4 seconds. Zai'Qer cannot apply tether stacks whilst this ability is on cooldown.

 

Zai'Qer can channel and spread infection down all tethers. It breaks the tether and leaves a malicious infection behind that deals damage over 2 seconds.

 

Empowered: Zai’Qer pulls on the tethers, bringing enemies closer to them, the distance depending on how many stacks are applied as well as dealing damage.

Zai'Qer releases the hate-fueled soul of Vanadier from within to unlease more potential. Gaining access to empowered abilities whilst in this form and the ability to travel through minions.

 

Upon activation, Zai'Qer opens his chest and throws Vanadier out a set distance. The shell is then left behind as Vander continues the fight for Zai'Qer.

 

Whilst in this form, Vanadier gains the power of ethereal rage, which provides permenantly empowered abilities and movement speed. For 15 seconds, Vanadier can move around and attack as normal. But chains bound him to the shell of Zai'Qer and cannot move out of range. Upon reactivation, Vanadier explodes and returns to where the shell of Zai'Qer is located. The explosion radius slows enemies, unless Vanadier has killed someone; in which case it fears instead.

The Animus Sycophant: Origins

An expedition gone wrong had bought Vanadier into close contact with the void. Within the ruins of Icathia, Vanadier had managed to separate from his group of expeditioners. Upon retracing his steps back, crackling energy and deep booming vibrations filled the air as dark energy burst into vision. Vanadier had never seen such a sight. This alien artefact that sat in front of him felt weak, dying, and desperate for attention. crystallised tendrils slowly poured into the world and enveloped Vanadier, pulling him in close. Burning his flesh and infecting his skin, he felt nothing but pain. He persevered and pushed past, all whilst Immense pressure pushed on his skull and he watched as these tendrils pierced into his body. After what felt like an eternity, he was let go of his agony and the void had released the grip it held upon him. Stumbling back, he watched as the cracks closed and the tendrils slipped back into a world unknown to him. At that point he heard a voice, it echoed through his mind, ‘such potential, vast knowledge … a survivor. An ideal candidate.’
